The novel coronavirus or COVID-19 has become a severe pandemic that has hit the world. COVID-19 was first discovered in 2019 in Wuhan, China. It has spread across the globe and has caused havoc. It is a previously unknown virus that does not have any vaccine at present. Although there are no medications for the disease, you may prevent it with some effective measures.   • If you find a person suffering from cough and cold, maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from him/her.
  • Try to avoid shaking hands with other people to greet them.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, eyes, and nose outdoors, as the hands are full of germs and they can be transmitted through them easily.
  • Cover your mouth while sneezing and coughing with a bent elbow or tissue.
  • Always use a COVID-19 certified mask to cover your face when going out.

1. Neem


Botanical Name: Azadirachta indica

One of the most important ayurvedic herbs, neem leaves are used to treat many diseases in India. It is famous for its antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties that may be helpful in the prevention of diseases like Corona as well. You can take them in the form of tablets or chew the leaves after washing them thoroughly with water regularly. You can also make neem leaves tea by boiling a few leaves in water for 15-20 minutes. Lets it cool down, add honey to it and drink.

2. Turmeric

Botanical Name: Curcuma longa

Turmeric or Haldi is an Indian spice, famous for its various health benefits.  It contains essential elements like curcumin, which helps in improving the immune system of your body. According to the studies, the people affected by the virus had weak immunity. The stronger the immune system, the lesser the chances of getting an infection. Thus we can say that turmeric might also help in fighting the epidemic. You can consume it by adding in food, milk, or directly in powdered form.

3. Tulsi

Botanical Name: Ocimum tenuiflorum

Holi basil is another plant that can work wonders in the treatment of respiratory ailments. It can help treat gastrointestinal disorders in your body, which helps in improving immunity and treating infection.
