Step 1 # Remove the Coconut Husk

With the help of a plier, separate and pull out coconut coir from coconut shell. Once done, dry them in the sun.

Step 2 # Cut it into Small Pieces

Break the coconut husk into smaller parts with scissors or cutters. The smaller the parts, the better it is for grinding.

Step 3 # Grinding

Put pieces of coconut husk fiber into the blender and grind it until it converts into a powdered form.

That’s it! You can directly use it in the growing medium.

How to Make Cocopeat Brick?

• Add some water to the powder to make a slurry. Mix it for an even consistency.
• Pour the mix into a container (preferably rectangular) to give it a desirable shape of a brick.
• Spread evenly and compress it to form a brick.
• Let it dry.

1. Cocopeat is organic and biodegradable with a life span of up to 3-4 years.
2. Its pH is slightly acidic to neutral between 5.2-7, which is beneficial for the plant’s growth.

4. It can retain moisture up to 6-8 times more than the regular garden soil.
5. Cocopeat has good aeration and drainage.
6. It consists of a considerable amount of nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and zinc, that are beneficial for plants.
