Fertilizer

If you have used cow dung manure and coco peat at the time of planting, then you don’t have to worry much about feeding the plant. To boost the growth and size of its tubers, apply a balanced liquid fertilizer, diluted to half of its strength, once in 4-6 weeks.

Pests and Diseases

As long as you avoid overwatering and provide plenty of air circulation and sunlight, it will be free of pests and diseases. The application of neem oil solution will keep the problems at bay if the plant encounters them.

Harvesting Suran Vegetable

Elephant Foot Yam will be ready to harvest in 6-8 months, from the date of planting. Look for yellow and drying up foliage, which is the indication that the tubers are ready. Take out the entire plant from the soil to harvest the tubers.
