Sunlight

Kadam trees grow well in a bright spot, so choose a location with a minimum of 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Avoid growing the plant in a shady spot as it will limit the growth of the tree and will also affect its height.

Soil

This tree is not fussy about the growing medium, which is why you must have spotted it anywhere in India. Kadam ka ped will be more than happy to dwell in the regular garden soil.

If you are starting Kadam Ka Ped in a pot, use a mix of garden soil, coco peat, vermicompost, and organic matter. This will give it a head start. When the plant grows to about 3-4 feet tall, you can transplant it into the garden.

Watering

Kadam tree likes to be in slightly moist soil when it is young. Water Kadam Ka Ped when the topsoil feels a little dry to the touch. Once the tree matures and reaches a height of 10-12 feet, it will take care of its watering needs.

Avoid watering the leaves when Kadam Ka Ped is young, as it will attract fungal issues.

Climate

The Indian climate is optimum for growing Kadam Ka Ped as it loves to be in a hot and warm climate.

Loosen the topsoil from time to time without disturbing the roots of Kadam Ka Ped so it can easily uptake moisture. You can feed it occasionally with a balanced liquid fertilizer to give it a little boost in growth.

Pests and Diseases

Spray Neem, Eucalyptus, or Citrus oil for any insect/pest attack. Remove dead, infected, or damaged stems or branches of Kadam Ka Ped to avoid diseases.
