India is the largest producer of Mango in the world. Moreover, it accounts for almost half of the total production of mangoes across the globe! Climatic Conditions for Growing Mangoes
The tropical and subtropical climate of India makes a right home for growing mangoes. Deep, well-drained, porous alluvial or loamy soil, with a pH of 5.5 -7.5, is best for their cultivation. The ideal temperature should be around 24°-30° C. They can survive in areas with high and average rainfalls, though rainfall during the fruiting can be harmful. In addition to all this, Mangoes require dry and humid conditions to fruit. The period of growing Mangoes differs in different climatic zones in India. So, the cultivation time ranges from February to September.

Mangoes are produced in all parts of India, and almost all the states grow them for domestic use. However, the commercial cultivation takes place in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. Other states that grow Mango in India are Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Haryana, Punjab, etc.

Uttar Pradesh, with its humid subtropical climate, is best suited for the production of mangoes.
