Does Money Plant Need Sunlight?

If you are wondering, does money plants need sunlight?  The answer to your question is yes! Just like any other plant, it also needs sunlight. When growing outdoors, position your plants such that they get at least 2-3 hours of direct sunlight. But when the temperature rises above 25ºC, keep these plants in the shade as the high temperatures may affect the growth of plants. However, when you are growing them indoors, choose a spot where your plant gets plenty of indirect sunlight. Places like the windowsill and side tables near an indirect light source are useful for placing the money plants.

Note: Do not keep the plants in direct sun for too long as the leaves of money plants have large stomata, which can cause fast water loss and may turn your plants dry and saggy.

Season

Another thing which can make a difference is the pot. Although these plants can grow on grounds, they are generally potted whether grown indoor or outdoor. The choice of the right container will depend on your choice of the growing medium for your plant. If you are growing your plant in water or jelly, then choosing a glass pot, jar, or bottle is excellent. But if you are growing it in soil, get a ceramic or earthen pot that is around 6-10 inches in size for growing money plant.

Watering

Watering your money plants can be a tricky business. People tend to overwater the plant to improve its growth, but it may cause root rot, killing the plant eventually. Water the plants once every two weeks in winters and once a week in summers or when the topsoil dries. Besides that, when growing plants in water, make sure to change the water every week.
