Andhra Pradesh

1. BPP1

These cashews are of medium size and with an average weight of 4-5g. Its average yield is about 8-10 kgs per tree with W 400 kernel grade.

2. BPP2

The average yield of this variety is 8-11 kgs per tree. The nuts are comparatively smaller in size, with an average nut weight of 3-4g.

3. BPP3

Released in 1980, the average yield is 9-11 kgs per tree with 4-5g of nut weight. It has 19.0% of protein with W 400 of kernel grade.

Tamil Nadu

4. VRI1

Native to the South Arcot District of Tamil Nadu, this variety has a mean yield of 6-8 kgs per tree. Its kernel grade is W320 and has 4-5g of average nut weight.

5. VRI2

This national variety was collected from the Changelpattu district of Tamil Nadu. It is well adapted to a wide range of soils and yields 6-8 kgs fruits per tree with 4-6g of nut size.

The early flowering variety produces nuts of 6-8 g approx weight. Having an average yield rate of 9-10 kg per tree, the tree flowers between December to February.

16. Dhana
