What is Bavistin?

Bavistin contains 50% of WP carbendazim that is effective against a wide range of pathogenic fungi and diseases spanning from downy leaf spot, fruit rot, leaf spot, root rot, wilts, blackleg, loose smut, powdery mildew, scab, set rot, seedling blight, and sheath blight.

Besides, bavistin is also used for seed dressing or seed treatment. Luckily it is not harmful to the bees and other pollinators, which makes it safe for the environment.

Bavistin Uses in the Garden

• Use bavistin as a foliar spray on infested garden plants. Mix 1-2 grams of bavistin fungicide in 1-liter of water. It is advised to use 1-gram of fungicide per liter of water for small saplings and seedlings and, 2-grams per liter of water for well-established plants. Stir the solution thoroughly and spray evenly around plants. Repeat the process once in 7-10 days.
• You can also dress seeds in the bavistin paste before sowing. Take a few pinches of bavistin and sprinkle a few drops of water to make a thin paste. Dress the seeds in the paste for 2-3 hours prior to planting. It will promote the germination rate while saving the seeds from potential diseases.
• Sprinkle some bavistin powder around the plant base, away from the stem, to prevent fungal infections. Make sure to use just a little bit and repeat the application, after 10-12 days, if required.

Bavistin Uses: Some Important Points 

Its excess application can be harmful to the plant’s roots, soil, and surrounding beneficial insects. It is advisable to apply it once in 7-10 days until all infestation or disease disappears. Make sure to wear hand gloves and a face mask.

How to Store Bavistin?

Bavistin is good to use for two years from the date of manufacturing. Store it in a separate room away from the kitchen. Also, make sure it is away from the reach of pets and children.
