How to Save Yellowing Lucky Bamboo
1. Save it From Direct Sunlight Exposure
Direct sun exposure is the leading cause of lucky bamboo becoming yellow. Too much direct sunlight can burn fragile leaves and turn them yellowish.
Solution: Place it in bright, indirect light, away from the scorching, direct sun. Also, avoid keeping it in a dark spot as that will inhibit its growth.
2. Avoid Fertilizing it Too Much
If the leaves and stalks of the plantnare turning yellow, then it is a clear sign of over-fertilizing.
Solution: Bamboo rarely requires fertilizing and can thrive for years without any feeding. It is best to feed them with a balanced liquid fertiliser, diluted to 1/4 of its strength, once in 8-10 weeks.
In case you have over-fertilized the plant, then change the growing medium.
3. Natural Aging
Older leaves start getting yellowish when the plant grows new leaves, specifically near the bottom side.
Solution: Yellowing due to aging is normal. As the plant directs its energy towards the new growth, the old leaves become yellow. It’s a good idea to prune old and yellowing leaves to help the plant focus on new growth.

4. Do Not Expose the Plant to Sudden Temperature Shift
Sudden temperature fluctuation can shock the plant, resulting in stress that can cause yellow leaves.
Solution: Bamboo responds well to 18-32 C temperature range. Keep the plant away from air vents and cold, drafty windows.
5. Avoid Using Mineral Laden Water
Using tap water can sometimes lead to yellowing of bamboo leaves, especially if you are growing them in water.
Solution: Tap water contains fluoride and can cause yellowing leaves. Let it sit overnight in a bucket to make the minerals deposit at the bottom. You can also use RO water.

Another common reason behind yellowing bamboo is low humidity. If the climate is dry and arid, especially in summers, it leads to drooping and yellowing leaves.
Solution: Bamboo requires at least 50% of humidity level to thrive. You can keep the plant on a water pebble tray and or use a humidifier for the same.
