Propagating Ixora Plant

From Cuttings

  • You can propagate West Indian Jasmine Plant through stem cutting during summers.
  • Snip off 4-6 inches long cutting from the mature plant, at a 45-degree angle, right below the node.
  • Dip the end in a rooting hormone and plant it in a well-draining potting mix.
  • Provide it with ample bright but indirect sunlight.
  • The cutting will form new growth in 3-4 weeks.

  • Purchase good quality West Indian Jasmine seeds from the local seed supplier.

West Indian Jasmine grows best in well-draining soil with slightly acidic levels ranging from 5.5 to 6.5 pH. The soil can also be amended with a layer of acidic mulch such as pine needles, straw, compost, or bark.

  1. I accidentally removed the ixora stem that was kept for propagation (it was 16 th day no roots were there) …. and again planted it after rinsing under water and applying rooting hormone…. will it develop roots
