Besides, these plants do well in slightly acidic and well-draining soil. Keep enough space between two plants and select a spot that receives full sun and lesser winds.

Pests like whiteflies and aphids are very commonly visible in these plants and neem oil can be great for keeping them off. Water your plants often as capsicums are 60% water and require quite an amount to grow well, especially in summers. With proper care, you can enjoy the fruits in two months of the plantation.

You can easily grow capsicums in your private gardens or patios. They are suitable for container gardening as well.

India is one of the largest producers of capsicum in the world. It not only produces capsicum for its domestic use, but it also exports them to various other countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, UAE, etc. The states producing capsicum in India are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Andra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujrat, and Goa.

The climate that is frost-free, with temperature not going above is 20- 25°C in the days and below 20° in the night time, is ideal for growing healthy capsicum plants. The tropical and subtropical regions in India, such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andra Pradesh, grow it in the winters. Whereas Hilly regions like Himachal Pradesh, which experience colder climates, grow it as a summer crop in the months from March to July.

We can conclude that even though it is a winter crop, there is no specific season to grow capsicum in your garden or farm. In India, farmers grow it throughout the year, with the use of various techniques such as greenhouse farming or indoor farming, to meet the domestic as well as international demand of the crop.
