Sunlight

Sadabahar Ka Phool is a shade-loving plant, so it does not require direct sunlight to thrive. It can grow in full shade or partial shade as long as it gets at least a few hours of indirect sunlight each day.

The best is to expose the plant for 3-4 hours to the mild morning sun. This will promote blooming. Do make sure to keep it protected from the harsh afternoon sunlight.

Soil

Periwinkle flower prefers well-drained, loamy soil with a pH of 6.0 to 6.8 and plenty of organic matter to help hold moisture. To keep Sadabahar Ka Phool healthy and blooming, it’s important to regularly add a 2-3 inch layer of organic compost and mulch to the soil.

Water

The soil should be kept consistently moist but not soggy, as too much water can cause root rot. Water whenever the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Water the soil until it is moist but not saturated.

Temperature

Sadabahar Phool blooms well in warm temperatures between16-32°C. It cannot survive in extremely cold conditions.

Fertilizer

Sadabahar Ka Phool is a low-maintenance plant and does not require much fertilizer. A slow-release, balanced fertilizer such as a 10-10-10 fertilizer can be applied a few times during the growing season to provide the necessary nutrients for healthy growth.

Go for a fertilizer with a low nitrogen content (5-10-10 or 6-10-10), as too much nitrogen can lead to excessive foliage growth and fewer flowers.

Pruning

Periwinkle flowers should be pruned in the early spring before new growth begins. Cut back the stems that have become woody and remove any dead or damaged foliage.

Prune the flowers to a desired shape and size. After pruning, fertilize the soil to promote new growth and water regularly to promote healthy flowering.

Pests and Diseases

Sadabahar phool can be affected by pests like spider mites, aphids, and whiteflies, which can be controlled by insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Common plant diseases include root rot and leaf spot, which can be prevented by avoiding overwatering and ensuring good air circulation.
