 How to Grow Pumpkin?Â
The best way to grow pumpkin is through seeds. Sow them in the summer season and they will germinate in 2-4 weeks. To save time, you can also get saplings from a nursery.

Requirements to grow Pumpkin
Sunlight
To grow bigger pumpkins, it is essential that the plant gets a minimum of 5-6 hours of direct and bright sunlight. Avoid growing it in the shade as it will result in low quality and smaller fruits.
Water
Pumpkins need a regular watering schedule. Do not let the soil go dry completely at any point in time. It would be a good idea to water the plant once in 2-3 days, depending upon the climate in your area. Also, avoid overwatering the plant.
Fertilization
Amend the growing medium with plenty of organic matter and cow dung manure at the time of planting. When the vines grow 1-2 feet long, feed the plant with a water-soluble and balanced fertilizer, once in 4-5 weeks. Do follow the instructions on the label.

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Growing Pumpkins
1. Don’t Underwater the Plant
Because pumpkins grow fast, they require plenty of water. Water when the topsoil feels a bit dry to touch.
2. Don’t Harvest Too Early
These veggies turn orange when ready for plucking. If they’re yellow, leave them on the vine until they turn bright orange.
3. Never Leave the Pumpkins on the Ground for Too Long
To prevent fruit rot, pick the pumpkins when they are ready for harvesting. Do not leave them on the plant as they will rot. You can also use cardboard underneath.
4. Give them Proper Spacing
Pumpkin vines can become overwhelming, so growing them too close to other plants won’t leave space for the others to prosper. Try to give at least 2-3 feet of space in between.
