1. Use the Right Growing Medium

People in India have a habit to use regular garden soil to grow most of the plants. Well, Dracaena Reflexa won’t mind dwelling in one but if you want the best growth, then use a blend of one part each of garden soil, peat moss, and perlite.

2. Water the Plant on a Timely Basis

While growing plants indoors, the best way to kill them is to water on daily basis. Song of India is quite a hardy specimen, which means you don’t have to take much care of it like watering it every day.

Do not overwater the plant and water it when the topsoil feels dry to touch, which can be once in 3-4 days in a typical Indian conditions.

 3. Use Fertilizer

If you want the best growth, then feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer, diluted to 1/4 of its strength, once in 3-4 weeks. Remember, frequency is more important than quantity and that’s why it is a must to use a light dose but frequently for the best boost in growth.

4. Prune!

Keep on snipping the dead leaves and branches off the plant from time to time. This will help it to redirect its energy into growing and flourishing new foliage rather than spending it on saving the old ones.

5. Take Care of the Light

The plant will be more than happy to dwell in a typical light that a normal Indian household gets. However, do save it from the direct exposure to the harsh afternoon sun as it will scorch its leaf blades. Morning sun exposure for 2-3 hours is the best way to promote healthy foliage development.

6. Keep it Humid

As these plants are native to subtropical climates, dry conditions can make their leaves turn brown. For healthy growth, mist the leaves every alternate day and keep the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water to elevate humdity levels.
