Gavar ki Sabji Information
India is the largest producer of Gavar ki Sabji, cultivating approximately 80% of the world’s demand. With a unique exotic flavour, you can enjoy it best by growing it in your garden!
According to a research, cluster beans are a rich source of soluble fibre content and are known for their cholesterol lowering effect.

How to Grow Gavar ki Sabji
Growing it is really easy from seeds. Just plant them in a well draining potting mix, water well, and keep the pot where it gets plenty of bright but indirect sunlight. The seeds will sprout in 3-5 weeks.

 Requirements to Grow Gavar ki Sabji
Sunlight
These veggies require a minimum of 6-8 hours of direct sunlight to produce well. Growing these plants in shade will result in little to no harvest. If you are growing it in pots, keep it in a sunny balcony or a window.
Soil
Cluster beans will grow perfectly in a well-draining and nutrient-rich sandy loamy medium with a pH of 7.5-8. For best beans, use a mix of 50% garden soil, 30% sand, and 20% well-rotted manure with a handful of perlite for good drainage.
Water
The key wot water cluster beans lies in keeping a tab on the topsoil. Water it only when it feels a little dry to the touch. If you are keeping it in plenty of sunlight, watering it every evening will be a good idea.
Gavar ki Sabji Care
Fertilizer
You can use a manure-rich medium at the time of planting. Also, side-dress the plant with cow-dung manure or vermicompost for better growth. Alternatively, using a 10-10-10 liquid fertlizer, once a month will give it all the boost it needs to grow plenty of beans.
Pests & Diseases
Gavar ki Sabji can be attacked by leaf-hoppers and pod borers pests. Powdery mildew and leaf spot are other common diseases. To get rid of the problem, use insecticidal soap or neem oil solution once a week.
Avoid overwatering to minimise the chances of root rot and fungal issues.

Harvesting Gavar ki SabjiÂ
Within 4-6 weeks after planting, flowers bloom, and seedpods will form. It is good to harvest in about 8-12 weeks, depending on the growing conditions. Harvest it young when seedpods remain slimy and soft in texture and green in colo for the best taste and flavor.
