It is also popular as the “blue nettle” or “Andean blue nettle” and is native to the Andes mountains of South America, particularly in Peru and Bolivia. In India, it is popular by the name Kurinji in Malayalam, Neelakurinji in Tamil, and Gurige in Kannada.

This plant is famous for its stunning, deep blue-violet flowers that bloom in dense spikes during the summer and autumn months. The flowers are tubular in shape and have a prominent lower lip that protrudes forward. 

Strobilanthes Kunthiana can grow up to 2 meters in height. Its leaves are dark green, elliptical in shape, and have a slightly serrated margin. From Seeds
