Sunlight

Langra mango trees require full sunlight to grow and produce abundant fruits. Ideally, they should receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight each day.

Mango trees can tolerate some shade, but too much of it can result in poor growth and reduced fruit production.

Soil

Langra mango trees thrive in well-draining soils that are rich in organic matter. The soil should have a pH level of 5.5 to 7.5. Clay or heavy soils should be avoided as they do not drain well and can lead to root rot.

It is best to prepare the soil by adding compost or well-rotted manure to improve its texture and nutrient content.

Water

Mango trees require regular watering, especially during the hot and dry months. The soil should be kept moist but not waterlogged. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering can cause the tree to drop its flowers or fruit. The best is to water the plant when the topsoil goes a little dry.

Young trees require more frequent watering than mature trees. Once it grows to about 4-5 feet in height, it will take care of its watering requirements on its own.

Temperature

Langra mango trees require warm temperatures to grow and produce fruit. They can tolerate temperatures between 4°C to 38°C, but their optimal temperature range is between 20°C to 35°C.

Temperatures below 4°C can damage the tree, while temperatures above 38°C can reduce fruit quality.

Fertilizer

Langra mango trees require regular fertilization to promote healthy growth and fruit production. A balanced fertilizer with a ratio of 10-10-10 or 16-16-16 can be applied every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.

You can also apply organic fertilizers like compost or well-rotted manure once a year to improve the soil’s nutrient content.

Pruning

Pruning is important for maintaining the shape and size of Langra mango trees, as well as promoting good airflow and sunlight penetration to the fruit. Do it in the dormant season (winter) and involves removing dead or diseased branches, as well as any shoots growing from the base of the tree.

Pest and Diseases

Langra mango trees are susceptible to a variety of pests and diseases, including fruit flies, mango weevils, anthracnose, and powdery mildew. To prevent pest and disease problems, it is important to maintain good tree hygiene by removing fallen leaves and fruit from the base of the tree.

Additionally, spraying the tree with a neem oil solution can help deter pests and reduce the risk of disease. If pest or disease problems do occur, it is important to treat them promptly with an appropriate pesticide or fungicide.
