Satin Pothos Information
The vines of Satin Pothos differ from pothos because of the variegation of their leaves. The heart-shaped leaves have silvery grey splotches, making them almost shiny and adding to the plant’s visual appeal. These beautiful vines will latch onto their surroundings, such as a pole, a trellis, other plants, a wall, or a piece of furniture. They bloom beautifully in the summer.
Botanical Name: Scindapsus pictus
Requirements to Grow Satin Pothos
Sunlight
Scindapsus pictus grows well in bright, indirect light. When exposed to direct sun, its foliage may lose its variegation and scorch. Placing the plant near a window with natural sunlight will require a curtain for shady and indirect sunlight.
Give it some exposure to the mild morning sun (2-3 hours).

Soil
It prefers well-draining, slightly acidic soil that is rich in organic matter. A good potting soil mix for Satin Pothos should contain a combination of equal parts loam, peat moss, and perlite or sand. You can also add some compost or aged manure to boost the nutrients in the soil.
Water
Water Scindapsus pictus when the top inch of soil feels dry. Stick your finger in the soil, and if it feels dry, it’s time to water. Water thoroughly until the excess water drains from the bottom of the pot, then discard any excess water.
Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. If you notice the leaves wilting, water the plant more frequently.

Pests and Diseases
Scindapsus pictus does not struggle much with pests and diseases but can be prone to scales or spider mites. To reduce the chances of damage, all you need to do is wash them off.
